Giving Back Report
It seems like just yesterday we were changing out of our summer clothes and packing lunches for the kids to take to school. Now it’s November and we’ve just replaced the Halloween decorations with Christmas decorations. It was during one of these “where-does-the-time-go” moments that I was reminded to write a blog reporting the donations to charities.
”Yep, I’m on it. A report for October” I said.
And then they pointed out: “You haven’t done one for September yet, either.”
So, sheepishly, I’m giving you my report now, for both months, in between taking down jack-o-lanterns and putting up Christmas lights. (It does get festive around here).
In September, our charity was the United States Association for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (or, “USA for UNHCR”). This is a UN Charitable organization that raises money to help meet the needs of the 32 million people around the world who are considered “vulnerable” as refugees. You can check out our previous blog from September and be sure to visit the USA for UNHCR website.
Thanks to the people who signed up in September, a portion of your sign-up fees amounted to $97, which was sent to help refugees.
In October, our charity was the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation, whose mandate is to end breast cancer forever. They have been working hard since 1982 to fund education and outreach to make sure women get education, diagnosis, and treatment. You can read our blog on October’s charity here and be sure to visit the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation.
Thanks to the people who signed up in October, a portion of your sign-up fees amounted to $114, which was sent to help fund breast cancer education and screening.
