Take a moment to remember
Today is Veterans Day. We remember those who serve, but we must also remember something else: That many gave up their lives for our freedom.
The date of November 11 was originally chosen to celebrate the end of World War 1 (as “Armistice Day”). However, in 1953, a shoe store owner in Kansas felt that the day’s scope should be broadened to include all veterans. (You can read more about that here. As a result, the name was later changed to Veterans Day (and, for those of you who aren’t in the US, today may be called “Remembrance Day” for you).
Take a moment to remember those who sacrificed so much.
Thank you veterans!
