Yesterday in twitterverse, I had a ton of inquiries and people asking us about our services and pricing vs. other services and pricing.
The question is… is $19.95 too high?
The question is… is the service worth it?
The question is… is the product worth it?
We may be a little strange here at IAC-EZ. Many of you have commented about rapid responses, friendly help, twitter tech support, us answering the phones at 2am. That is who we are and what we want to do.
We did not build IAC-EZ because we wanted to become millionaires, we built IAC-EZ because we wanted to help freelancers, micro-businesses and self employed individuals keep track of their business receivables and receipts in an easy format, cost effectively and with a little bit of ‘help’ when it is needed.

Do you see a trend? Most of us work from home, most of us are self-employed or work for ourselves and the initial concept was derived from an accountant who saw a do-it-yourself need that had not been fulfilled in the Freelance market. We know what is needed; we developed this because we want to satisfy this need and because we want to help.
So, to answer the questions above:
Is $19.95 to high?
How much does an accountant charge you to talk to you and give you advice? We offer professional accounting advice through our Help Desk, Forums, Blog, Twitter, Telephone and Email – from an accountant – not just a web developer or tech support guy.
Is the service worth it?
We respond to all emails and support desk tickets within 2 hours during business hours and within 4 hours outside of business hours. Our operator answers our phones 24 hours a day. We fixed a bug that someone reported on Sunday within 20 minutes and updated them on the status. We respond to all forum messages on the same business day. You can’t get some professional service firms to give you such service for a couple hundred dollars an hour!
Is the product worth it?
We are the only transactional/receipt based bookkeeping system that exists. We offer simple bookkeeping for freelancers and micro-businesses that don’t need the complications of an account based bookkeeping system. We listen to our users and release new features weekly. We attempt to make your life easier so that you can focus on what you do best.
When purchasing a product, you have to make sure it fills your needs. When purchasing a service you have to make sure that the service provider is competent and responsive. With IAC-EZ you have a product that fills the void in the market for consumers who want easy, simple receipt-based bookkeeping and may need some help from time to time with some questions (service!) and support provided by qualified experts in their field, all inclusive in the same price.
We just wanted to let you know that we get it.., we are a service that has a product, not a product without the service. So when evaluating your options, make sure you pick the service that is truly a service and that treats you as if you were a million dollar client — regardless of what price you pay!
