Giving Back in July

IAC-EZ knows that life is about more than balance sheets and income statements. That’s why we try to do our part to give a little back to the world; and we encourage our community of users to do the same.

This month, a portion of all proceeds from new sign-ups in the month of July will go towards Oprah’s Angel Network. Oprah’s Angel Network was founded in 1997 and, at the time, encouraged people to collect spare change for scholarships and to contribute their time and effort to Habitat for Humanity. But 12 years later, Oprah’s Angel Network is a huge influence and a global force in giving.

Although Oprah’s Angel Network is wide-reaching, there are three main initiatives:

• The O Ambassadors is an education and enablement program that teaches and encourages children to help other children. It’s a great program because when our children are helping each other, the next generation has a lot of promise!
• Rebuilding the Gulf Coast is an initiative to rise above the destruction left behind from Hurricane Katrina. I like this project because it shows the tenacity of the human spirit.
• Creating Schools Project is a program designed to problem-solve and build schools in impoverished, remote areas in South Africa. Education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and despair, which is what makes this program so exciting.

So, if you’re thinking about signing up in July, just think about what a portion of your initial proceeds will contribute to!
